Wireless Cameras for Ifor Williams Horse Trailers

Keep an Eye on Your Horse While Travelling

If you tow with an Ifor Williams horse trailer, being able to see your horse while travelling can provide valuable extra reassurance.

A wireless horse trailer camera allows you to view what is happening inside your trailer from the towing vehicle, helping you check that your horse is standing comfortably and travelling normally.

TowCamDirect offers simple rechargeable wireless camera systems that can be used with many popular Ifor Williams horse trailers, without the need for complicated permanent wiring.

Whether you use an older HB505 or HB510, or a newer HB506 or HB511, a portable wireless camera can provide a simple way of keeping an eye on your horse while you travel.

Where Can I Mount a Camera in an Ifor Williams Trailer?

This is one of the questions we are asked most often.

TowCam cameras use a strong magnetic mounting system, but it is important to understand that not every part of an Ifor Williams trailer is magnetic.

Many Ifor Williams horse trailers use aluminium or composite-aluminium body panels.

A magnet will therefore not simply attach to every wall or body panel.

Instead, look for a suitable steel mounting point within the trailer.

The TowCam Mini is also supplied with Velcro pads for situations where there is no suitable magnetic mounting surface.

This makes it much easier to experiment with different camera positions until you find the best view of your horse.

Before travelling, always make sure the camera is securely fitted and cannot fall into the horse area.

Which Ifor Williams Horse Trailers Can TowCam Be Used With?

TowCam cameras are universal rather than being designed for one particular trailer model.

They can therefore be suitable for many Ifor Williams horse trailers, including:

  • Ifor Williams HB505

  • Ifor Williams HB506

  • Ifor Williams HB510

  • Ifor Williams HB511

  • Ifor Williams HB403

  • Ifor Williams HB510XL

  • Ifor Williams HB610

  • Ifor Williams HBX models

The exact mounting position will depend on your individual trailer and the view you want from the camera.

Always test your chosen camera position and wireless connection before travelling.

Camera Position Inside the Trailer

Ideally, position the camera so that you can see as much of the horse area as possible.

A higher mounting position generally provides a wider view and reduces the likelihood of the horse coming into contact with the camera.

Depending on your trailer, you may want to position the camera:

  • towards the front of the trailer looking backwards

  • towards the rear looking forwards

  • above the horse area

  • to one side giving a wider diagonal view

Because TowCam cameras are wireless, you can try several positions before deciding which gives you the clearest view.

Take a short test journey before relying on the camera for a longer trip.

Travel With Greater Peace of Mind

You cannot always tell what is happening inside your horse trailer from the driver's seat.

A wireless camera gives you another way to check your horse during a journey without installing a complicated permanent camera system.

TowCam cameras are rechargeable, portable and simple to set up, making them a practical option for Ifor Williams trailer owners.

Keep an eye on what matters while you tow.

Phone or Monitor – Which Is Best?

Choose the TowCam Mini if you:

  • want the simplest and most portable option

  • are happy viewing the camera on your smartphone

  • want fewer items mounted in the towing vehicle

  • regularly move the camera between trailers

Choose the TowCam Camera & Monitor Kit if you:

  • prefer a dedicated screen

  • do not want to use your phone

  • want a larger permanent display while travelling

  • also want a useful reversing and hitching camera

Both systems provide a simple way of improving visibility inside and around your horse trailer.
