Magnetic Installation – No Complicated Wiring

One of the biggest advantages of TowCam cameras is their simple installation.

The cameras feature strong magnetic mounting, allowing them to be fitted quickly to a suitable steel surface without drilling holes or running permanent cables through your trailer.

This also means the camera can be removed for charging or moved to another position when required.

It is important to remember that magnets only attach properly to suitable ferrous metal. Aluminium, fibreglass and many composite trailer panels are not magnetic.

Always test the mounting location firmly before travelling and use an additional secure fixing where appropriate.

Using TowCam on an Ifor Williams Trailer

We are often asked whether TowCam cameras can be used with Ifor Williams horse trailers, including the popular 510 models.

The important point is the mounting surface.

The magnet will attach firmly to suitable steel parts of the trailer or chassis, but the main body panels on many Ifor Williams trailers are not magnetic.

Customers therefore need to identify a secure steel mounting position rather than expecting the camera to stick to the main side panels.

The TowCam magnet is strong, and suitable steel chassis areas can provide a secure mounting point. However, every trailer is different, so always test the exact position carefully before towing.
